2013 Rangi Pro Junior Opens With Style in French Polynesia

The second event on the 2013 ASP Australasia Pro Junior Series, the Rangi Pro Junior got underway today. The surf was in the 2-3 foot (1.5 metre) range, breaking over razor sharp French Polynesian reef, while the surfers battled for precious ratings points and prize-money. The top four surfers at the end of the 2013 ASP Australasia Pro Junior Series will go onto compete for an ASP World Junior Title and also get rewarded with valuable seedings into the ASP Star and PRIME events.

Perfect Rides On Opening Day In New Zealand

Opening day of the TSB Bank NZ Surf Festival featuring the Dow AgroSciences Pro completed Rounds 1 and 2 of competition, culminating the day’s action in offshore two-to-four foot (1 metre) waves at Fitzroy Beach. The ideal conditions saw performance levels rise throughout the day, including the event’s first perfect 10-point ride earned by California standout Lakey Peterson (USA), 18.
