The Hyundai Surfing Australia High Performance Centre (HPC) Performance Camps are designed to take Australia’s best young surfing talent to the next level.
These 2 or 3-day intensive programs that combine world-class surf coaching, competition preparation, and athlete development in an elite environment.
Who It’s For
Our camps cater to boys and girls across the following age divisions:
- Under 12s
- Under 14s
- Under 16s
- Under 18s
Each age category has two Performance Camps per year, providing a consistent pathway for development.

- Performance Coaching: Elite coaches deliver water sessions, video breakdowns, and personalised feedback.
- Competition Preparation: Learn heat strategies, scoring awareness, and how to manage nerves in high-pressure scenarios.
- Athlete Development: Workshops on mindset, recovery, and self-management to support growth both in and out of the surf.

These camps are invite-only, with spots determined by current national rankings on Live Heats Junior Series for each age division.

How do Academy athletes get selected?
Athlete applications are reviewed by a selection panel made up of Academy coaches and Surfing Australia’s High Performance staff. Successful applicants will demonstrate that they surf at an advanced level, have competitive experience and apply themselves academically.
Do I have to attend Lindisfarne to be in the Academy?
Academy athletes will be required to attend Lindisfarne on a full-time basis where possible. Surfing Australia will grant a limited number of exemptions for non-Lindisfarne students’ and we encourage any surfer that does not attend Lindisfarne to apply.
Is the Academy recognised as a school subject that goes towards an athletes Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR)?
No, Lindisfarne Anglican Grammar School administers all educational components of the Academy program.
