Five new Australian Para Surfing champions have been crowned at the Ingenia Australian Para Surfing Titles on the last day of the Hyundai High Performance Centre Australian Surf Championships at North Haven in the Port Macquarie region.
The good weather continued, with the North Haven break wall punching out 2ft clean waves for a great morning of para surfing.
Jack Jackson lit up in the final of the Vision Impaired final, nailing several searing cut backs to take the win. New South Welshman Jack ‘Money’ Matthews left it until the last five minutes of his final to take an Aussie Title. Matthews came straight off the bottom of a set wave to produce one of the turns of the day, throwing buckets to the sky and backing it up with another finishing turn to take victory.
Para surfing royalty Mark ‘ Mono’ Stewart hadn’t been in the water for several weeks, but shook the rust off with a signature barrel ride and rail display to take out the Kneel division.
