Last week, Surfing Australia welcomed 21 emerging surfers and aspiring coaches to the Hyundai Surfing Australia High Performance Centre for the Coach Ready Program, proudly supported by Macquarie Sports.
Over five intensive days, participants aged 16–20 completed a rigorous training schedule, earning their surf coaching accreditation along with first aid, CPR, and surf rescue qualifications, all under the guidance of Surfing Australia’s High Performance Program coaching team.
Now fully accredited, these young coaches are returning to their communities to begin work at Surfing Australia-affiliated surf schools across the country.
At a time when demand for qualified coaches is high, this program continues to play a critical role in developing a skilled, diverse coaching workforce and creating genuine employment pathways for young people in the surf industry.
