Club Coach Ready Program Overview

The Club Coach Ready Program includes the Foundation Level 1 Surf Coaching and the Surfing Australia Club Coach Course.
This is a high-impact development initiative designed to strengthen boardriders clubs by upskilling their representatives with practical, real-world coaching expertise.
Delivered by Surfing Australia at the world-class Surfing Australia High Performance Centre (HPC) in Casuarina, this immersive experience combines theory, in-water coaching, and performance training.
This is a full subsidised camp valued at over $2,000 per person.

Who It’s For?

  • Boardriders club representatives aged 18 years and over.
  • Individuals passionate about developing surfers at a grassroots level.
  • Surf School or BRC leaders, competitors, or emerging coaches looking to formalise their skills.

Program Objectives

Participants will:

  • Gain accreditation for the Foundation Level 1 Surf Coaching Course (2026) and the Surfing Australia Club Coaching Course.
  • Complete First Aid / CPR / OSCCA accreditations.
  • Learn how to design and deliver effective surf coaching sessions.
  • Build leadership, communication, and mentoring skills.

Competition & Heat Strategy

  • Heat preparation and planning
  • Priority, scoring, and tactics
  • Simulation-based heat drills

  • Surf-specific fitness principles

  • Warm-ups, mobility, and performance routines

Program Format

  • Duration: 5 days / 4 nights (residential camp)
  • Location: On-site at the High Performance Centre (HPC)

    • Classroom workshops

    • Practical assessments
    • Group collaboration activities
