Coach Ready Program 2023

Surfing Australia and Macquarie Sports are stoked to offer 20 lucky 16–20-year-olds the opportunity to become a fully qualified Surf Coach in September 2023. Together, we will aim to have every coach working in a local surf school once qualified.

Participants will come together for a week-long camp at Surfing Australia’s High Performance Centre in Casuarina, NSW, from Monday 11 September – Friday 15 September. Everyone will complete a foundation surf coaching course, first aid certificate, CPR course and surf rescue certificate, before being connected with an accredited surf school to complete a practical work placement.

There is currently a very high demand for surf coaches amongst surf schools, providing ample opportunity for program graduates to transition into employment following the course.
