Unreal, very happy to be part of such an awesome movement of displaying female surfing.

I hope to learn some new skills and spend time with the other girls in and out of the water. I’m lucky that my best friend India is also in the Top 5 so it should be super fun.
How is this different to other competitions and training you have done in the past?
This for me is more of a fun competition, I’m not putting too much pressure on it. I look forward to having a crack and seeing where I end up.
What does it mean to you, to have an all-female comp and support like this?
I don’t think it gets much better, I’m really grateful that there are opportunities and excitement around women’s surfing and competition. And to have a company like Hyundai on board is epic. And what are your surfing goals?
I am currently studying to be a paramedic so at the moment surfing fits around uni, but I hope in the near future I can start to compete again full-time.

I hope to push my surfing and learn some new skills and have fun with all the girls.

It’s different to other competitions because it’s all online and is just your best one wave.

INDIA
Name: India Robinson
Age: 24
From: Jan Juc, Victoria
Favourite surf break: Bells and Winki (Victoria)
How does it feel to make it into the Top 5? It’s a cool opportunity to be a part of, I love being involved in stuff where girls can support and encourage one another.
What do you hope to achieve from being part of Hyundai Team Electric?
For this competition I’m looking forward to being in an environment with just a few other girls and being able to push each other to perform at our best, it’s gonna be fun.
How is this different to other competitions and training you have done in the past?
This is very different to what I’m normally doing. For my job I’m normally travelling to the other side of the world to compete in multiple events and all my training in the lead up to these events is tailored for me to be ready for the waves I will be surfing in the event.
What does it mean to you, to have an all-female comp and support like this?
I love seeing more opportunities for females especially in the surfing space, my biggest passion outside of surfing is inspiring and empowering the next generation of females so I love everything about this, and although not everyone can win everyone can participate and that is so important, building a space for more girls to feel welcome into the surfing community. I’m looking forward to seeing some of the up and coming talent, hopefully we can all have a good time and showcase some really good surfing.
And what are your surfing goals?
My surfing goals are to win a world title, go to the 2028 Olympics, and win the first gold for Australia. Outside of surfing I want to make a positive impact on as many young girls as possible through my organisation QUEEN IN ME.

RUBY
Name: Ruby Moana Berry
Age: 17
Where do you live?
I’ve always lived and gone to school in Margaret River-Augusta Shire in WA. Grew up at Prevelley Beach most of my life, last few years been in our Augusta beach house waiting for our house to get built in Prevelley.
Favourite surf break:
I don’t have a specific favourite, I really like to mix it up and keep variety. I like to surf where my grandads ashes were sprinkled out at Margs Mainbreak. That feels like home to me, from there I search up and down the coast for the best waves.
How does it feel to make it into the Top 5?
Pretty good! I’m looking forward to learning new things and improving my surfing even more. The experience sounds super fun and I really want to make the most of it.
What do you hope to achieve from being part of Hyundai Team Electric?
I hope to win, but also to learn more of the coaches and other girls.
How is this different to other competitions and training you have done in the past?
It’s different because we get the opportunity to coach and train with each other before the comp starts. Also the comp format is the same as the Final 5 format on the CT so it will be super cool to experience that different type of competition.
What does it mean to you, to have an all-female comp and support like this?
The support means a lot and having the girls pushing each other to be better and better is going to be sick!
What do you hope to learn from the camp?
I hope to learn more about comp surfing and how the surf industry works.
And what are your surfing goals?
Being an inspiration to the next gen of girls surfing and enjoying my surfing journey is really important to me, in competition I’d like to go to the Olympics for surfing and to win a world title on the CT.
