New date set for Australian Indigenous Surfing Titles at Bells Beach on Wadawurrung Country this September

Surfing Victoria are pleased to announce the new date for the Australian Indigenous Surfing Titles presented by Rip Curl and Headsox has been set for September 10 – 13, 2021.
 
The original date was postponed due to the COVID19 circuit breaker lockdowns in Victoria that were implemented in the week of the event.
 
“We are looking forward to welcoming everyone back on to Wadawurrung Country in September to continue the tradition of this incredible event” said Surfing Victoria CEO Adam Robertson.
 
“The event is a true gathering of First Nations cultures from across the country and we can’t wait to hold the event again.”
 
The event, in its 9th year at the culturally significant location, is one of the true gatherings of First Nations surfers from across the country.
 
The event will host divisions including Open Men and Women, Junior Men and Women (U18), Masters (O35), Elders (O50) and Longboard.

The event will be held under strict COVID19 restrictions including sanitisation of all rash vests, QR Code Check in for all people in the Event Zone and requesting that competitors leave the competition site once they have finished their heat.
 
COVID19 Risk Management Key Points
– Competitors are to arrive for their heat 20mins before it begins and leave the contest zone no more than 40mins after their heat
– Rash vests will be washed after every heat
– Competitors and spectators must check in via a QR code
