Queensland’s top surfers descend on the Sunshine Coast for the 2022 Queensland Surf Festival

SUNSHINE COAST, QUEENSLAND (Wednesday 16 March 2022) – The 2022 Queensland Surf Festival (QSF) is set to begin tomorrow, kicking off six days of surfing action on the Sunshine Coast between Thursday 17 March and Tuesday 22 March. 

The six day festival will feature some of Queensland’s top talent across multiple disciplines including shortboard, longboard, logger, SUP surfing, and bodyboard. 

A total of 52 titles will be up for grabs as competitors vie for selection into the Queensland team to compete at the Australian Titles later in the year.

The Open Men and Women Shortboard blue ribbon divisions will be hitting the water Saturday 19 March, competing for a Queensland Title and a position in the World Surf League (WSL) Gold Coast Pro Challenger Series Trials.

Queensland’s best shortboard Masters (over 35) will be hitting the water on Thursday 17 March in a 2-3 ft SE swell and variable winds to commence the 2022 QSF.

The 2022 Queensland Surf Festival is proudly supported by The Point Coolum Beach, The Sunshine Coast Council, Queensland Government, QMS Media and Visit Sunshine Coast.

Event Location

The six-day festival (17-22 March) is a mobile event (Noosa – Caloundra) with the preferred location being Coolum Beach. Please call the Surfing Queensland event hotline (07 3030 6388) each morning for the confirmed location.
