Published on 02/11/2026

Sandon Point Boardriders Club has claimed victory at the NSW South leg of the Australian Boardriders Battle (ABB) Regional Series 14, overcoming a record field of 18 clubs to secure the regional qualifier title and a place at the 2027 NRMA Insurance Australian Boardriders Battle Grand Final at Burleigh Heads.

The biggest and strongest field ever assembled for the NSW South Regional Qualifier delivered an action-packed day of competition at North Cronulla, with clean 2–3ft right-hand rip bowls, sunny skies and a fantastic turnout creating ideal conditions for some of the region’s best club surfers to go head-to-head.

The competition culminated in a fiercely contested four-team final, with Sandon Point, Bondi, Cronulla and defending regional champions Elouera all vying for the NSW South title.

Sandon Point rose to the occasion, delivering an impressive team performance to finish on 37.27 points, securing victory by 4.74 points over Bondi Boardriders Club (32.53). Cronulla Sharks finished third with 28.30, while reigning champions Elouera rounded out the final four on 19.79.

Adding to the highlights, WSL World Junior Champion Jarvis Earle was in outstanding form throughout the day for Elouera Boardriders Club, saving his best for when it mattered most with an incredible 9.50-point ride in the semi-finals to claim the Boost Mobile Wave of the Day.

The result capped off a memorable day at North Cronulla, with the record 18-club field demonstrating the continued growth and strength of grassroots club surfing across the region. From established champions to emerging junior talent, the ABB’s unique tag-team format once again brought together multiple generations of surfers representing their local clubs.
