To identify, nurture, and develop the next generation of Australian female surfing talent, while building a strong and sustainable female national coaching network that empowers and supports their long-term success

ABOUT

Talent UNLSHD will deliver state and national development activity for Australia’s leading U18 pre-emerging women and girls.

STATE ACTIVITY

Each state will select athletes to take part in regular coaching sessions and regional camps. Athlete numbers and selection criteria vary by state.

NATIONAL ACTIVITY

In 2026, we will select 12 of the nation’s most promising under-14, under-16 and under-18 pre-emerging women and girls to form the Talent UNLSHD National Development Squad.

Selected athletes will be invited to attend two National Development Camps, where they will immerse themselves in a high-performance environment. The camps will focus on peer-to-peer learning, technical and tactical coaching, physical preparation, and performance mindset development.

From this squad, two athletes will be further selected to join our six Under-18 Categorised athletes for additional program opportunities.

Eligibility requirements are outlined in the National Selection Criteria. Squad selections will be confirmed in January for the 2026 calendar year, with the program reopening for the 2027 intake.
