The iconic ‘Dometic Adventure with O’ series returns for its third season

Published on 18/10/2025

Surfing Australia is excited to announce the return of “Dometic Adventure with O” for its third season, produced by Surfing Australia Studios. Featuring some of the most exciting talents in Australian surfing, this series debutes on Saturday on Channel 9 as part of Surfing Australia TV, with all episodes also available to stream on the mySURFtv YouTube channel.

How did this series come about?

This series was developed as a unique reward for the top four teams from the Hyundai Australian Boardriders Battle (ABB) Grand Final presented by NRMA Insurance—the biggest and best club surfing event in the world. Two surfers from each club face off again, riding some perfect surf conditions while also taking on a series of camping and adventure challenges at a remote location, designed as an epic east coast road trip.

Capturing the spirit of surf travel:
Dometic Adventure with O” takes surfers from Snapper Rocks, North Shore, Torquay and Merewether boardrider clubs to the renowed surfing town of North Haven on the New South Wales mid-north coast. Get ready for the ultimate camping trip and surf showdown, complete with a few novelty challenges along the way.

Over four days, the surfers step out of their comfort zones to tackle a variety of challenges, from surf grudge matches, fishing and cooking, to surf trivia and everything in between. For some, like Ellie Harrison and Spencer Harrison, camping is a relatively new experience, while others are seasoned campers. Who will rise to the occasion? You’ll have to tune in to find out!

Olympic bronze medallist and avid camper Owen Wright said the ‘Dometic Adventure with O’ is his way of reconnecting with his roots:

The Dometic Adventure With O came from mixing my two favourite things: surfing and camping. I grew up doing both, but after years on tour I lost touch with those roots. Bringing this event to life has been my way of reconnecting — being out in nature, chasing waves off the beaten track, camping with mates, and sitting around the fire sharing stories after a few heats and some epic surf sessions.”

Paul Wilkie, Dometic Head of Marketing ANZ, says this series is designed to lead a movement and encourage positive change:

“At Dometic, our mission is to empower more people to connect with nature and elevate their sense of freedom in the outdoors — to leave behind schedules, phones, and concrete, and to immerse themselves in the elements. Through ‘Dometic Adventure with O’ and our Surfing Australia campaign, we’re not just supporting a journey or a brand partnership — we’re championing a movement. We want every participant, whether budding surfer or seasoned camper, to feel the freedom of packing into the unknown, chasing waves, building camps, telling stories under the stars — and coming home changed. That’s what true adventure means to us.”

Chris Mater, Surfing Australia CEO has always loved being a part of the Dometic Adventure with O:

“The Dometic Adventure with O is one of my personal favourite projects this year. It’s a great little adventure, bringing together some of our best Boardrider clubs across Australia. What we’ve created is more than just a road trip — it’s a compelling six-part TV series that celebrates community, surf culture, and the spirit of the open road.”

Sheldon Simkus of Snapper Rocks Surfriders thought the ‘Dometic Adventure with O’ ticked all the boxes:

“For me, camping is all about quality equipment at quality locations with quality people. We ticked all three on this trip”

Co-host Adam Vaughan Blakey loves jumping on any opportunity to get out into the Australian bush:

“It really doesn’t matter where you go — this country will always give you something incredible. Something that makes you go home thinking, why don’t I do that every day of my life? There’s nowhere like the Australian bush — and the more you get out there, the better your life becomes.”
