Woolworths Surfer Groms Comps winners crowned in Tasmania

Published on 30/10/2023

A bumper draw saw a full day of epic surfing at Clifton Beach today for the Woolworths Surfer Groms Comp in Tasmanian.

Two foot waves and offshore wind allowed surfers in Under 8’s through Under 16’s to showcase their skills, none more so than Clifton Beach local Alby Clemow who posted an event high nine-point ride to win the Under 10 Boys division.

Another standout local was Under 16 Boys division winner Cowan Duncan. The young Park Beach shredder looked like he would take some beating from the get go after he posted not one, but two seven-point rides in his round one heat.

Tasmanian’s Ava Carlton (winner Under 16 Girls), Jessica Gardner (winner Under 14 Girls) Marvin Freeman (second Under 14 Boys), Lili Hall (winner Under 12 Girls) and Fletcher Bugg (Under 8 Combined) rounded off a great day for locals and interstate visitors alike.
