York Peninsula Hosts Final Round of South Oz Woolworths State Junior Titles

Published on 07/06/2022

The third and final round of the Woolworths Junior State Titles was held at Chinamans on the Yorke Peninsula over the weekend.  The weather caused havoc with pelting rain, gale-force wind squalls, and low temperatures making for an interesting day out for competitors, spectators, and work crew.

On the bright side, Chi’s delivered as it always does with some solid 4-5 surf and a few wash-throughs during the day. The young competitors did well braving the weather as well as really heavy surf conditions. The three-round Woolworths Junior Series presented by GLOBE caters to both boys and girls divisions for under 14’s through to under 18’s and forms the selection criteria for state representatives attending the 2022 Junior Nationals Tiles later this year.

The South Australian junior state team will be announced in the coming weeks.
