Surfing Australia is excited to announce the Australian Surf Championships are set to return to Port Macquarie, NSW in 2024.

The event will be held from Wednesday, 31st July to Thursday, 8th August and incorporate the Australian Shortboard Titles, the Australian Para Surfing Titles and the Australian Bodyboard Titles.

In more exciting news, the Australian Longboard and SUP Titles will be moving to new locations this year, with details to come soon.

Surfing Australia CEO, Chris Mater, said: “We’re thrilled to see the return of the Australian Surf Championships to Port Macquarie in 2024, with hundreds of surfers set to compete across three disciplines of surfing; shortboard, para and bodyboard. Last year we saw pumping conditions throughout the competition, and we expect epic waves again in 2024. We invite all surfing fans to join us and cheer on many of the country’s most talented athletes as they battle it out in the hopes of being crowned a national champion.”

Port Macquarie Hastings Mayor Peta Pinson said it was now surfing’s time to shine in the Port Macquarie Hastings.

“The Port Macquarie Hastings region continues to ride the crest of the major event wave this year, and I am thrilled to once again welcome the Australian Surfing Championships and its competitors as they barrel into town come late July,” Mayor Pinson said.

“This competition has become a real mainstay of our region’s sporting calendar, growing larger each and every year. With an abundance of suitable surf and shorelines that stretches for miles, it is no wonder our local and visiting competitors love competing at our brilliant surfing beaches. I’m looking forward to the action-packed competition and wish all competitors and visitors a warm welcome to the Port Macquarie-Hastings.”

The primary location for the event is Bonny Hills with back up locations including North Haven, Middle Rock, Lake Cathie, Lighthouse Beach, Flynns Beach and Town Beach.

Competitors are being offered a discount on accommodation at Ingenia Bonny Hills with 15% off all bookings across the event period. Use the link to make your booking or call the park direct.
