Champs Crowned At Epic Woolworths Surfer Groms Comps National Final Camp

CASUARINA/NSW(March 7th/2021): Winners of Under 14 Boys and Girls divisions have been crowned today at the 2020/21 Woolworths Surfer Groms Comps pres. by Pic’s Peanut Butter series Camp/National Final.

Contestants in the six final heats of the series were greeted with excellent quality waves in Kingscliff early this morning with 2-3ft clean walls making for the best possible conditions for crowning champions. 

In a new format, both finals were contested under a ‘block priority’ system with each of the four competitors given a ten-minute priority during the heat to nail their best one wave score. This made for outstanding surfing with finalists pushing their limits for the win.

The country’s best young surfers battled it out across the weekend of March 5th, 6th and 7th whilst utilising Surfing Australia’s HPC. The competition was mobile across the Tweed Coast and landed on the best possible location on both competition days. 

Regarded as one of the major stepping stones in the development of young Australian surfers, the 10-event Woolworths Surfer Groms Comps series caters for surfers from Under 8 to Under 14 and will be held in New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria, Western Australia, Tasmania and South Australia over summer.
