POSTPONEMENT OF HYUNDAI AUSTRALIAN BOARDRIDERS BATTLE GRAND FINAL PRESENTED BY NRMA INSURANCE

Published on 04/03/2025

Surfing Australia can confirm that the Hyundai Australian Boardriders Battle Grand Final presented by NRMA Insurance, originally scheduled to take place on the Gold Coast from March 8-9, 2025, has been postponed due to Cyclone Alfred and the extreme weather conditions forecast for the region.

Due to forced measures, and based on official weather models and advice from the Bureau of Meteorology, council and emergency services authorities, we have made this decision in the interest of the safety of all competitors, staff, and spectators.

Safety remains our highest priority. Forecast conditions indicate that it will not be safe to run the event or for competitors and officials to travel. Event officials have been closely monitoring the system in accordance with our risk management protocols and have determined that postponement is the most responsible course of action.

New event dates will be announced shortly.

Surfing Australia appreciates the understanding of all competitors, boardrider clubs, and event partners during this time. We will continue to provide updates as further details become available.

For ongoing event updates, please stay tuned to Surfing Australia’s official channels.
