Round 1 Of The South Australian Woolworths Junior State Titles Runs At Fun Middleton

MIDDLETON/SOUTH AUSTRALIA(Feb 15th/2021): Middleton point provided some fun 2–3-foot waves, the perfect setting for giving groms from across the state, a stage to showcase their skill, they converged in great numbers on the Fleurieu Peninsula for the first round of the series. 

Imogen Elliot (Seaford) and Corey Taylor (Marion Bay) took the Under 18 divisions today with impressive displays of surfing. The Under 16 Divisions went to Meg Day (Kadina) and Indi DeBono (Middleton). In the Under 14 Division, it was King Cairns (Port Noarlunga) and Maia Tatie (Seaford) that dominated taking the first round of the series. Ashton Crowley and Mitchell Henderson took out the Groms on Rocks award

The Junior Surfing Series is for Under 14’s through to Under 18’s and forms the selection criteria for the state representatives for 2021 Australian Junior Surfing Titles which will take place later in the year at North Stradbroke Island. The next round will be held on the Fleurieu Peninsula on the 27th of March, followed by the final round on the Yorke Peninsula, dates to be announced.
